Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl...finally.
yeah i got it imported for my sons bday last week. Its lots of fun, basically if you liked the cube one you will love this. Some of the new levels are total genius and the new characters are pretty good too.
I put it in the same quality bracket as galaxy and mario kart so its pretty much a must own if you like that sort of thing ![]() |

My copy turned up at 11am at work yesterday and I've not had a chance to play it yet as I've not been back home :'( I really can't wait to play it!

Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl...finally.
Didnt think that this would be for me, but saw it in Sainsburys today when shopping with the wifey and picked up another Wii Wheel for a tenner and Brawl for under £30...
Started playing on single player mode, doing some training and trying to forget all the years that I had been playing street fighter (the only fighting game I really ever played)... To be honest it was a bit OTT and bizzare to begin with, all that movement in the back was quite distracting, and I was like Hmmmm.... maybe not such a good idea. Perservered though and completed the single thing with Link and started to realise how to use the actual game mechanics and different moves. Button bashing still works to an extent, but isnt as satisfying. Then roped in wifey to play and taught her the basic game structure, and we played for a bit - real good laugh actually. Still have trouble trying to get back onto the main stage once knocked off - is there only one move that you can do to get back? Had one online game and it connected fine, just wondered if anyone knows how to access your overall online stats??? I went to the Data section, but that doesnt include WFC data. Am I just missing the obvious here? But overall, after having a few doubts, think that this will be cool. Worth a purchase. Now I just have to convince some mates to try it out! JP |

Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl...finally.
I'm a bit surprised actually, I've read some pretty bad reviews about this (not enough new features, too much button bashing etc.) but it seems to be getting well received.
I loved the first 2 but was planning to give this one a miss. Maybe I'll reconsider... |

Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl...finally.
What do you guys think about the introduction of the third party characters. I know my brother thinks people like Sonic and Snake should have been left out in favour of more classic Nintendo characters? Although it was down to a vote... :S

Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl...finally.
I've been playing SSBB for a little while now and I'm loving it. It's not a massive leap from the Gamecube version but the inclusion of the Subspace Emissary single player 'story' and loads of unlockables have been keeping me busy for quite a while now. It also made me finally go out and buy a classic controller as the 2nd stick makes it so much easier to quick smash your opponents off the stage. I also quite like the inclusion of a few non-Nintendo characters but they aren't as easy to play with as the original bunch. The game is awesome, but it is a shame the online play isn't better
. It'll probably take Nintendo ages to get it right (fingers crossed for the new Animal Crossing!). |
