    xInsIDE.exe/xRaidSetup.exe - what are they?

The following run at startup, but I'm not sure what they are. Are they necessary? What are they?
    c:\RaidTool\xInsIDE.exe
    c:\windows\system32\xRaidSetp.exe

I have a Asus P5K-E motherboard, 1 SATA HD, 1 SATA optical drive, 1 IDE optical drive and runinng 32-bit XP SP2. I did try using my external drive over eSATA, but gave up, so reverted to USB. I may have tried installing something when I did that, but forget.

I'd like to disable them but not sure of what will happen.

    Cheers,
    Dave

    c:\RaidTool\xInsIDE.exe
Its part of "Jmicron IDE Controller"...

    c:\windows\system32\xRaidSetp.exe
    Its malware...
Delete both, file and key in registry...

Exclamation Re: xInsIDE.exe/xRaidSetup.exe - what are they?

Just a warning to those who might read phantom's reply and jump to delete xRaidSetup.exe. If the file name is spelled without the "u", then yes, delete it. But the odds in this case are that demonicd just misspelled it since he does have a board with the JMicron controller and the Asus driver CD would have typically installed that for him.

And yes this reply is to an older thread, but Googlers looking for xRaidSetup info find this fast enough.
