tough. windows nt has no ms-dos underpinnings. there is no way to get into dos, it's not there. same goes for all nt versions, from nt 3.1 to nt 5.2 (server 2003)

if you really MUST try something, a windows 98 boot disk combined with an ms-dos ntfs reader will allow you to READ files, but i don't believe you can write the information back in any way

windows nt uses the NTFS partition system, which cannot be accessed by MS-DOS without third-party software (DOS handles only FAT12, FAT16 & FAT32). if you get ahold of an MS-DOS boot floppy disk (such as a windows 98 disk), and some third party software, then you can get _READ_ access to the NTFS data on an NT4 machine. not sure if that's what you need, but that's the best you'll get without getting ahold of an NT Emergency Boot Disk & using the recovery system on that
