    Password recovery in win 98

I've set up a new computer for one of my dad's friends recently, however the internet (56k) stilll isn't working because noone seems to have any knowledge of the password for the connection, i've looked around for a 'display characters' bit like in vista but couldn't find anything.

Does anyone have any idea of what i'd need to do to recover it? I assume some dos disk would come into it somewhere but that's as far as i know.

    Thanks

There were a few apps which could do this back in the day where you dragged a crosshair over the stars (*******) and it would show you it.

That only works if the password textbox has the password loaded into the object iirc.
