| Manufacturer specific Windows 7 Upgrade programmes Hey, a few months back I bought a TX2 tablet from HP, that came with vista, with W7 upgrade eligability. I also bought 3 other copies of windows 7 at pre-order/student pricing for my other machines. The HP upgrade just arrived and its the 32-bit version, but I actually wanted to run 64-bit (I have bought some new RAM which would take it to 4GB) My question is will there be some restrictions on the disc that check for HP hardware codes? Could I use just the product key provided with a W7 install using the 64-bit disc from one of my retail packs? I know I could just try it and see, but if anyone else has had the experience and already tried then I'd be very grateful and would save me alot of hassle. Thanks in anticipation |
