    best disk cloning software?

Can anyone give me recommendations for hard drive cloning software?

    e.g. Ghost, TrueImage, Drive Image?

I would have automatically gone for Ghost but there are some very dodgy reviews of it on Amazon (not exactly the most respected source of software reviews, I know ).

I need to clone the contents of my hard drive for backup purposes.

    thanks,
    dave

driveimage is pretty good, from what i've used of it, and (thank god) has full network support in the xppe-based restore cd when you boot, so you can restore from a network share

I use Acronis True Image & Migrate Easy @ home & work. Works for me.
Have also used Drive Image. All quality progams imo.

I've been using PowerQuest (DriveImage) since their very beginning. I tried Norton, Acronis, etc. I stayed with PowerQuest. I use 2002 version. I do NOT like the 2003 (aka version 7). I do NOT use the whole thing just 2 floppies or custom-made CD (image of the floppies).

The link (for the Hiren's Boot CD) was found on the WWW. Yes! I posted it here. What seems to be the problem?

In regard to the copyrighted appz: CD does NOT contain full version of any software=>check it out, then blame me ot its creators.

the very fact you spell applications with a z does not impress me much.

further mentions of where to obtain anything that appears to be vaguely copyrighted WILL result in a suspension.

this is your first and only warning.

It depends on how exactly you would like to implement the software and what you would need it for, you want to be a little more exact with regards to your needs?

Not ghost it is CRAP! It could not be slower or more annoying, and crashed almost every time. Probably wont happen for most people, I cant say ive ran chkdisk that often.... though my drive has no physical damage.

Id say use maxtors maxblast3. You can download it free from there site. It is resonably quick and also has someo other usefull stuff....
Its designed for people that have just bought a new drive and want to clone it so they can throw ald one away.. so theres no network cloning or anything, only IDE->IDE.
