This thread has been trimmed down by me.

Several posts had clear references to, and links to, a Warez site.

Warez and NOT TOLERATED here, so please, guys, be very careful what you post in this context.

P2P clients are not, inherently, illegal, but the bulk of the usage of them is. We don't want to prevent discussion of the legal uses of such software, but there are to be NO LINKS TO WAREZ.

If it happens again in this thread, the thread goes permanently.

In that case. http://bittornado.com is the official bittornado website. Download it from there. It has no spyware, adware, malware, viruses, trojans or anything. I believe it is the best, especially the current experimental version. Azureus is good. If you want a version of bittornado with a GUI you can use torrentstorm http://www.torrentsotrm.com . I believe the links in this post are above board, if not, feel free to delete it and call me a nancy-boy .

To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.

I used to use Burst! which is excellent but Azureus won over it for ease of use, a wealth of config options, plugin system (safepeer) and it looks sweet.

Another vote for BitTornado, no spyware in it so long as you get it from the real site and not some repackaged jobby.

Absolutely no replacement for Azureus, its fantastic and very fast considering its Java basis.

ABC is quite good; simpler than some of the others, but effective.

nah dude u missudastand...maybe other people maybe posting about warez etc...but this was intended as a legal topic.because i am wishing to use the p2p client for a free legal download of a lindows distrobution... i had a token offer for it so i wanted a program that i could use to download the iso distrobution from...and that required a torrent program,so i was asking for a program that would be able to download that type of file (torrent) and that is not either virus infested or spyware infested,as thats what i had got in previous torrent programs...saying that tho,is it possible that the spyware was integrated with the free distrobution of lindows????

The problem wasn't with your thread, mate, but with some of the responses to it. That's why I "trimmed" it and put it back.

Hexus doesn't have a problem with legal uses of P2P clients and, as you say, they can be used legally. What we do have a problem with is when people post links, IN a thread, to Warez sites.

Had the problem been with your thread itself, it would have been removed completely. Your post, and the thread, are fine provided people watch what they post. Unfortunately, if people keep taking a legitimate thread off into the realms of illegality, we'll close the thread. Hence the warning.
