Radeon 8500 linux driver install problems

im useing college linux, i downloaded the appropriate drivers for my Xfree86 (im assuming its version 4.3) i ran the rmp on a command line and i get the following message

Can any one help me out with this please?


Next i need to install the emu10k1 drivers to get digital out working on my sound card. Ive read the Read me and i ain got a clue what their onabout. I tried to install these a while back but failed.
