| Software related speaker problem Right, I have got a set of Creative 6100s connected to an Audigy 2 ZS, they have been running fine, broadcasting through all the speakers and doing what they are supposed to do. Friday night I plugged a set of headphones in (as I do usually) and used them for a bit, then plugged my speakers back in when I was finished. Now, i've done this before and it's usually fine, went into the Creative control panel and told it that my 6.1s were back in and it did what it normally did. Woke up the next morning, played some music and realised it wasn't coming out of my rear speakers (rear left, right and center) and that it also wasn't coming properly from my sub and not at all from front center. I've done the hardware tests, the voice goes round and tells me which speaker should be what and it all works fine (on every single speaker so I know they all work) BUT windows doesn't seem to be recognising that it's a 6.1 system like it used to. This happens with everything, games, Winamp, Windows Media Player. I've checked all the options I could find in the Creative control panel and it just says they are all working fine but it seems as if somewhere it is still set to headphones. Went and looked in the (windows) control panel and sure enough, tells me I have a 6.1 system in there (actually appears as a 5.1 and is upmixed via my sub to 6.1). I have no idea what's going on. Any help greatly appreciated ![]() Tom/R1zeeK |

| So odd...booted up this morning, check the Creative Control Panel and it said I only had 2.1 speakers...set it back to 6.1 and suddenly, lo and behold, all the speakers work again! So very odd... |
