85 tasks in 1 year: Tyrolean Traverse

My 3 boys are doing 85 outdoor activities this year (well, it was 85, but already growing). We wrote them all down, which makes it far more likely we'll accomplish them all.

Last week it was learning how to sharpen blades and how to use an axe. This weekend they asked to learn how to use a Tyrolean Traverse.

I like that are using real tools for a real purpose too. I see nothing wrong with children being able to use real life equipment under guidance Much more beneficial to them than being stuck inside on a computer.

Good stuff! (I could never manage recovery, getting from the underslung position back on top of the rope )

Hehe, thanks for the recovery idea. We tried that, but the rain came in, and didn't manage without assistance. Something to tick in the future

Wow, that's great! Looks like hard work though. I've never heard of Tyrolean Traverse before, where did you discover that?
