    Realistic folded pram/pushchair dimensions

No, no exciting news here, but were I say to buy a car which might be used for paraphernalia in the future, what sized opening should really be considered? I see several folded dimensions on product pages, but.. stuff.

If you have a boot that can't fit a standard buggy when folded then you'd know already. Even if they're long then they go in at an angle so will fit.

Floor well in the back is pretty useful. There are derachable base top push chairs (for little ones, there are quite large as the kids need the support), all in ones (can get very small;18mo+) and monster machines (trikes, doubles). Unless you've got a history of twins in the families you should be able to avoid cat. lll. I think you're best borrowing one from a friend and trying it out.

You're sounding pretty cryptic there k.

    Re: Realistic folded pram/pushchair dimensions

Kal.. the baby is a baby.. tiny.. the push chairs are mammoth things... like Mothercare Urban Detour

big wheels, lots of padding. mammoth handles....

That will take up a goodly part of, say, an Astra boot space, with bags folded about it...

when the kid's 2 years old tbh you get much smaller ones that fold a lot smaller.

way smaller and will fit in a small part of the Astra boot.

Mondeo/Insig size cars will take it all as hatch's. Saloons struggle only with the height and not the width of the boot.

    Re: Realistic folded pram/pushchair dimensions

It is indeed height of a saloon I'm thinking of - I measure 40cm for the opening. Hence hoping for some realistic (ie plus padding) folding dimensions. Once in, the boot looks pretty vast.

It's one of those 'if you're going to spend that much on a car, it has to...' situations

A hatch obviously better, but quite a bit smaller boot over all. Estate would be fine, but they don't do an A3 estate

    Re: Realistic folded pram/pushchair dimensions

Hatch not always good.. Focus Mk1 was TINY for shortness.. it was TALL to the parcel shelf ....upright.. but floor was so short. Astra back then was mammoth length.. but no height.

I can suggest something which YOU will feel odd doing but once you know its normal.. you'll be OK

Go to Mothercare and ask to put one in your boot...

they will HAPPILY come out with you and try it they have them all out on display.. not in boxes.. you'll be ok asking.

however.. when you're NOT a Dad yet.. it's really hard going in there.. I struggled like HELL going in even to look.. made me feel odd.....

its sexist... if it was called FATHERCARE it would be ok!

then you have a kid and BANG.. its easy!
