    DVD Audio Low Volume?

For some reason my DVDs (Using PowerDVD 5) are really low volume. I can't see anything obvious on the SoundStorm mixer, and the volume in the program is set to 100%. When I rip the DVDs, the rip plays at a much higher (normal) volume.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Ive found the same thing using Power DVD 5... the only thing you can really do is enable Dolby Prologic, set the environment to noisy so you get extra boosted sound, but even then i find power dvd too quiet for its own good!
Try DVD-X Player, it plays all region dvd's in region locked dvd drives and works a treat! Sound is much louder too! Version 1.6 Pro is a 30 day trial/5 minute limit playback, but its worth paying for if you need it.

www.dvd-x-player.com i think is a valid link, if not search google for it!
EDIT: DVD-X Player 2.0 is now the latest, giving a 30 day no limit trial! And that link does work. Enjoy!

    This is normal.

Its due to the audio on the DVD being AC3 Dolby Digtal (or DTS) encoded, the whole idea for this audio formats is to get better quality, not only frequency range but also audio range - this makes voices quite quiet although explosoins using the full range.

Also make sure you have the right number of speakers selected for your setup.
