Tbred/Barton Heat Levels

Hi guys new to this board

any body got info on this heat problem on amd cpu`s it would seem that the barton get a lot hotter then the Tbred.
at the same speed range, in which case would tbred 2400 /2600 over clock better then a barton 2500.

Also will the extra cache on the barton make any diff in the real world ie games .

I've seen some very good results from oc'ing 2400's and 2500 bartons, they both seem to do really well when clocked properly.

Apparently the extra cache of the barton counts for an extra 100/200mhz extra in real world situations.

2500's are really bad clockers, the 2400 are good though.

I'm sure i've seen 2500's hitting 2.3ghz etc?

what shocking generalisations!!

i have to say lots of people, like Knoxxy said, have been getting 2.3Ghz+ with xp2500's, not exactly bad!! they do tend to be a rather mixed bunch though, with quite a large spread on peoples experiences on then.

Of course its a generalisation.

Generaly speaking, hes more likely to get a better clocking 2400, than a better clocking 2500.

The most i've seen a barton doing is 2300 on air...
Do the 2400's go further?

Well, I'm aiming to get my pair of Barton 2500+ to around 2.2GHz...

Acidrainy, all tbred b's are good clockers now, as they have matured and are as good as they will get. I doubt that an xp2400 will overclock any higher than the xp1700, especially a JIUHB DLT3C one.

I just happen to have both. The XP2500 clocked VERY easily to a fsb 0f 210 while the XP2400 did not fair nearly as well. This is on the same mobo with the same memory, etc.

I have yet to play with the multiplier and RAM timing, this is just out of the box.

my 1700+ is sat at 2400mhz on a £16 heatsink, cant be bad can it mine aint even a good one, mearly average. someone on IRC clamed to have his 2500+ @ 2.5ghz on air but it crashed in 3d mark

2.2ghz for me without trying to hard on my 2500+ equiv to 3200+ does me fine
