New Monitor or New Graphics Card

I have around £120 to £150 (More close to £130) to spend on a new Monitor or Graphics card.

I currently have a 19" monitor @ 1280X1024 and a Geforce GTX 550 Ti OC.

I would really like to get a wide screen 22" or 23" monitor but I'm worried how it will affect my graphic card performance. Current I can play all the games I like with quite high settings (Sleeping Dogs, Skyrim, The Witcher 2, Portal2, L4D2, TS2013 etc..).

If I was to get a graphic card I think I would be looking at Geforce GTX 650 Ti Boost or if money allows a Geforce GTX 660. I treally don't feeling the need to upgrade my graphic atm as it seem to handle my games well but would this be the case if I changed monitor to 1920X1080?

For me I would get a monitor

If you get a new card, your monitor would limit the new card in the sense that you would only gain FPS and not graphical quality.

Once you have a new monitor, you can better asses the usefulness of your card.

Yes monitor. A friend of mine uses a GTX 550 Ti to run games on his 32" 1080p TV. It works great and has good performance. I would stick with the 550 Ti, it's a good card, and focus on monitor first.

They're both IPS, LED, and 1920x1080, which would be on my list of priorities.

I can't find reviews for them, and there's no promise that they're excellent monitors, because frankly, they're a little on the budget side, but they've definitely got the tech. The IPS should make them better quality pictures than any TN panels, and LED should mean thinner, less heat, and lower power. And for this budget I think you'd be crazy to get less than 1920x1080 res - and anything higher would be well beyond your limit.

I've got that LG monitor and the picture quality is braw. Stand is a bit wobbly but you get what you pay for.

im still gaming on a 1680 x 1050 22" with a GTS 260, on decent fps....monitor is the way to go...

I run all my games off the same resolution on my HD 7850 and I have yet to play a game that doesn't hit 60fps on high settings.
Games like

War Thunder
Mech warrior online
Far cry 3
Borderlands 2
Mars War logs

All run fine.

I can imagine if I got a 1920 x 1080 monitor, my FPS would suffer but I am happy with what I have.
