Actually, it makes some sense for AMD to make a noise about this.

Several times now I have seen people trying to spec a computer who think they have a choice of:

1/ Intel CPU and Nvidia GPU
    2/ AMD Rig

The thought of pairing an Intel CPU with an AMD GPU seems alien, and therefore they buy Nvidia because they can't buy an AMD CPU that is fast enough right now.

Intel? Well everyone likes some money off, so I guess they get to play the nice guy for once.

Re: Intel and AMD join forces for a game bundle??

"AMD"? I'm sorry, I think you mean "Radeon"

Not a single mention of AMD on that page. No AMD branding at all. I mean, we all know that Radeon graphics are made by AMD, but just by looking at that page, you'd have no idea.

Perhaps the rumours of friction between the RTG and it's parent are true after all...?

Also, i really hope this *isn't* what all those "Radeon and Intel signing agreement" rumours were about...

as strange as it is intel and AMD worked together a lot in the past, i remember reading up that intel would rather work with AMD over Nvidia which is why they now have rights to amd graphics patents

AMD are the parent company of radeon, AMD and the remains of ATi can't use the same bank account or act as a single business or they would be split apart in the courts under the monopoly rules

Sorry, but that's pure bunk. They do use the same bank account and operate as as single business. The Radeon Technologies Group is a business unit of AMD, but all of their finances are processed through AMD and reported under AMD's financials.

Besides, they're not even close to monopolising one of those businesses - they have a minority market share on both sides.

I was simply pointing out that although Radeon is an AMD brand, it was particularly conspicuous to me that the page CAT linked didn't have a single reference to AMD at all.

AMD get corporate profits from company shares, AMD and radeon still have to operate as seperate businesses, just like microsoft OS and its office suite

the size of the company does'nt matter, rules are rules and they are for everyone to follow

As I said, I'm pretty sure they don't do that. They function together as a single business. They even report financial results for the "computing and graphics" section of the company together - that's CPUs, APUs and Radeon graphics cards. Having different business units within a single company is hugely different from operating as separate businesses...
