    Weird Problems - Please Help!!

My PC has been crashing a lot recently.

Basically, it will run fine and then all of a sudden it will hang for a second or two, then come back, hang again for a second or two, come back and then hang permanantly, with the HDD light on constantly.

I've looked in the Event Viewer last time it happened and got the following errors, all within a minute of each other, at the time it crashed -

    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: Service Control Manager
    Event Category: None

    Computer: PC
    Description:

The only USB I have is the onboard stuff - 6 on the board and 2 on an expansion plate (doesn't actually connect to a pci slot - a lead connects it to the MB)

I wasn't aware of having any NEC hardware at all! According to Device Manager, all of my USB stuff is Intel and VIA

Well, I've moved one of my HDDs back onto an IDE channel (was previously on an SATA channel using an abit adapter) and all seems well now!

I'm still getting the NEC PCI to USB problem, but it doesn't actually seem to cause any issues!
