    Logitech mice: G5 or MX518

Right then, my MX700 is coming to the end of its life and I have already settled on a new keyboard (Saitek Eclipse) but I now have to choose a new mouse! Having used a MX700 for about a year I don't really want to shift manufacturers as the shape of the Logitech mice is lovely, also the weight on the MX700 is *just* right.

    Anyway... onto the two contenders;

    G5
    Pros:
    2000dpi compared to the mx700's 800dpi
Adjustable weight (maybe able to get it the same as my mx700)
    Shape/design same as mx700

    Cons:
    Price
    Missing "forward" button

    MX518
    Pros:
    1600dpi compared to the mx700's 800dpi
    Shape/design same as mx700
    Price

    Cons:
    No weight adjustment

So then.. which should I go for?

lol craig. Im at exactly the same dilemer. just getting rid of my mx700, but for diff reasons. I find the weight in it not quite centre for gaming, and also a little heavy. Used it for 3 years though

If i had the cash i would go for the G5 because of the weight adjustablity and extra dpi.
But its like 50 quid :S, so im tempted to lean to the mx518 as i KNOW for a afact its an awsome mouse

Personally I like the 518. I use one along with a 510 & MX700. I can't see that the G5 is worth the extra cash personally.

Does anyone have any opinions on the Razer Diamondback and Razer Diamondback Plasma?

    Cheers,

Using a 518, seems OK to me.. did upgrade from a M$ Intellimouse ball mouse though

One bad side to 518 (I think) is that dirt from your fingers builds up on the left/right mouse buttons and you have to wipe it once in a while.

Just got the Diamondback Plasma Limited Edition...

OMG! Its the bestest mouse in the whole wide world!

If youd rather save money, get a normal Diamondback Magma, around £30.

Only difference is that its not blue!!!

Seriously though, get a Razer Diamondback. Its a lot better than the MX518 that my mates got!!

Really biased view, but hope it helps!

If your a fan of Logitech, the MX1000 is a very good mouse, especially, if like me, u use it for prolonged periods of time.
