    Thermal 120 Extreme
    Idle:

    10 Load:

    After 1 Min:

Still as noisy as before but I think that is the top fan, not shown on everest.

Dont know why there is such a difference between cores? I used the included thermal paste, Chill factor. Loads came out and i scraped some off.

Your PSU isnt doing a very good job.
4.82 - 4.85 is cutting thins VERY fine on the 5V rail.

I'd be getting rid of that a bit sharpish......

(how geeky is that, that i even noticed)

the mobo ones aren't as accurate as a multimeter reading.

cores 3&4 always seem to be cooler, than 1&2, i don't know why tho, someone probably will.

Its quite simple really. Your PSU should be providing 5V to certain parts of your PC... It is not. Its is only providing 4.8V. This could have severe consequences i.e. PC death.

I think you are getting the different temps because the base of the heatsink is concave. If you lap it then you should get more equal temps

Re: Heatsink Change Log - Q6600 Stock ---> Thermal Right U120 Extreme (In Pics)

Some difference in temperature is normal. It's also possible that the first two cores are a bit higher because there are some processes running that are using the first core or two. Software that uses all the cores is less common.

The most common reason for a difference though is the surface of the chip or the heatsink not being perfectly flat, or the thermal paste not being spread evenly, or the heatsink not being perfectly fitted in all 4 corners.

Ideally the thermal paste should be a VERY thin layer, so if loads came out and you had to scrape some off, it could be that you have a bit too much on. Too much can be as bad as having not enough.

You could maybe improve slightly by using a thermal paste remover and getting both the heatsink and chip perfectly clean, and then reapplying a thin, even layer. But with temperatures that low, I personally wouldn't bother - unless you plan on doing a huge overclock.

I'd also just check that all corners of the heatsink are screwed in equally tight to the bracket.

Also, the closed corners of a fan like that Yate Loon, can be easily removed with a little saw. There is nothing technical in there, so you can just carefull saw through the little bits of plastic and then you have yourself a fan with open corners.

    True.
Using a DMM is always the way to measure rails accurately.
I only mentioned it because the 12V and 3.3V look OK. I think those figures are correct.

I still think your load temps are high.
At stock, i wouldnt be happy with over 70 degrees.
On mine i never go above 43 degrees with the OC @ 3.2ghz.

Take another look inside as it shouldnt be that hot. (Or your Heat Sink is not flat).

43 degrees under load with an OC? Nice.

I am pretty convinced some chips are crap when it comes to their flatness I have terrible temps with my chip and I've tried 3 different heatsinks, and I've fitted them probably 20 times with proper thermal paste removal and cleaning each time, and then proper application each time. I reckon the surface of my chip is just shaped like a tennis ball I could check with a metal ruler or something but I can't be arsed anymore.

The fella i bought it from here also had excellent temps up at 3.6ghz.
IIRC, the screen shots he sent me, at that OC, never went beyond 57 degrees

I have just overclocked to 333 with no voltage change and will be adding it to post 3. Will be going to scan tomorrow to get some mx 2 and have cut the yate loon corners, it cracked abit but dont think it will cause any noise, will add pics.

Having issues adding the photos either it is my internet or imageshacks, I will add photos later, I think my mobo has upped the V Core to 1.28V? I am within warranty to 1,5v right?

No. Overclocking, even by 1MHz, technically invalidates your warranty...
