    Intel Haswell GT3e IGP demoed

    Subjective framerates looked similar to a GT650M according to Anandtech:

    The settings were 1920X1080 at high with shadows at medium.

    This is GT3 version which uses embedded RAM although the graphics were tested in a desktop,against a laptop with the GT650M,so I assume it is one of the desktop chips. The other versions,ie,GT1 and GT2 use system RAM. It is unclear whether the GT3 also has a version without eDRAM and whether the GT650M used was the GDDR3 or GDDR5 version as the GDDR5 is used in the Apple laptops.

    Bit-tech is the only review site which I can see which has tested the HD4000 with DiRT3 at 1920X1080 using DX11:

    However,the low setting was used and not the high settings like with the Anandtech test. OTH,Anandtech does not state whether DX9 or DX11 was used.

    The desktop A10-5800K can hit nearly 40FPS at 1920X1080 with all settings set to high(including shadows) and no AA:

    The A10-5800K tends to get a 3DMark11 score of around 1500 points and the A10-4600M around 1150,ie,around 30% higher.

    I don't know what the impact of going from high to medium shadows is,but it does look like,the GT3e should at least match the IGP in the A10 4600M if DX11 was used in the demo or maybe exceed it.

    A lot depends on what the clock speed of the GT650M was, and whether it used DDR3 or DDR5 memory.

    Extrapolating somewhat, a desktop 640 (roughly equivalent to a DDR3 650M) tends to be either a bit faster or a bit slower than a 6670 DDR5 depending on game. We already know that Desktop trinity is a little slower than a 6670, and mobile trinity has a GPU clock speed ~ 20% lower than than desktop trinity. So: if GT3e is roughly the same speed as a DDR3 GT650M, then it's probably at least 20% faster than mobile trinity.

    if it's a GDDR5 GT650M, that changes things a bit. The desktop GTX650 (which has at least 15% faster core clock than the mobile version) fluctuates between being slower than a 7750 and about the same speed as a 7770. So in a best case scenario, you're probably looking at GT3e being on a par with a desktop 7750, which would be significantly faster than mobile Trinity (worst case it would probably struggle to beat a desktop 6670 though).

    AFAICT the Haswell demonstrated was aimed at mainstream laptops, not ULV.

    OTOH: we already know that Richland is coming and offers 10% better graphics than trinity at the top end mobile part, and 20% better graphics in low voltage form - which already closes the gap to GT3e significantly. And if the demo was of mainstream haswell rather than ULV, ULV rRchland is likely to continue to prove graphically better than ULV Haswell. And that's without even thinking about Kaveri, which will shift to 28nm, Excavator and GCN, plus possibly pack in more cores (I'm
    desperately hoping for a 7750-matching 512, but only time will tell...). I'm sure Haswell is going to be a good product, but I don't think the GT graphics are going to be the jump some people seem to be expecting...

    The 3DMark11 score with Richland is around 22% higher for the top mobile SKU when compared to Trinity,and is around 10% lower than a A10-5800K.

    Looking good, but a shame GT3 will not be available for desktop solutions, Would make a decent steam box with that power.

    I like small systems.

    I have a feeling that AMD will have 384 GCN shaders in the next revision of its IGP. The reason is because they seem to have produced a 384 GCN shader based discrete part. Crossfire would probably work better in this case.
