    Re: Gaming/Office Chair

I recently bought a Steelcase Leap v2 and it's the greatest chair I've used. Purchased from ebay used and reupholstered, but a week later they were selling new ones for £50 more (typical ).

If you spend a lot of time in it, it's worth getting a chair that you can adjust to match your body and environment. I've used a good number of random ones through work and none have been as adjustable or as comfy.

Me and the Mrs both have that Ikea one, and overall its pretty decent (especially when you factor in the cost) - have tried many more expensive chairs in my time and not as good as this one (comfort and quality wise)

Alera Elusion is comfy and tough and cheap, too. Definitely recommended if available where you live.

    Re: Gaming/Office Chair

I wouldn't recommend the Ikea Markus.

It's good for about 6 months and then you notice how cheap it is, after 3 years of light use its ready to go in the bin, the swivel is very lose and sways side to side. I weigh 84KG.

I personally own the Markus from Ikea and it's absolutely brilliant. It's so comfy and has great support. The open air back is great for longer gaming/work periods too

    Solid recommendation!

    Re: Gaming/Office Chair

I am looking at the same sort of thing for myself, the only issues I have are that I don't want to go for faux leather as this is usually not very hard wearing but real leather costs too much so I guess I would need a decent mesh chair and I want one with a decent gas cylinder so it doesn't stop working properly after a few months, my budget is up to £100 or there abouts.

    Re: Gaming/Office Chair

Another recommendation for Costco. Definitely on the cheaper end (£120 or less typically) but the major advantage is you can test them out. The sheffield store typically have around 6-10 chairs ready built to try out before you buy one. I've had 2 so far. First one the framework (low quality cast metal foam type material) fatigued on the arms after about 18 months (poor screw placement at weak point). Second chair is still going strong without issue after 18 months + both cost in the region of £80 to £100 and at that price I couldn't complain as they've been very comfortable with memory foam padding + padded arm rests. No complaints for the money.

    Re: Gaming/Office Chair

A recliner chair is what I use it's so much nicer than office chairs even though I had a pretty nice one they can be picked up for around £170 for real leather cheaper for cloth Ebay: MADISON REAL LEATHER RECLINER ARMCHAIR SOFA HOME LOUNGE CHAIR RECLINING GAMING £169.99

With things like massage and other useless (in my opinion) functions for slightly more.

I have the Ikea Torkel - it's only cheap compared to the Markus, and obviously isn't as good, but it's been absolutely fine since I got it a while ago - comfortable and so far still working as well as it was on day one.

    Re: Gaming/Office Chair

I've got one of those 'office manager chairs', mesh back, head rest???? everything adjustable, but I'm not convinced it's the best position to sit in, it seems right, lumbar support, etc. But I still get neck ache! (if we tell you what doesn't work, process of elimination). I've also got downstairs, a recliner, comfortable massage chair(cost about £180), which I think would be perfect, for the PC, if I can find a way of using keyboard and mouse. If that doesn't work may try gaming chair, next!
