Got a Thundergod's Vigor (+15% lightning dmg, +15% Justice dmg, +434 str, +484 vit, +171 lightning res, block/dodge/hit causes you to release 100% dmg lightning bolts) and a Sublime Conviction shield (pretty meh I think) last night so decided to try a lightning build but can't find one I'm that happy with.

No, I'm still in the clan! Just been catching up on tv recently rather than Diabloing. I won't be on over this weekend either, but I may be on for some rifts tonight.

    Re: Diablo III: Loot 2.0

That's odd, last night you were showing as online, but not in the clan. Today, you are offline and in the clan... Maybe a bug?

Hit 70, trying to do a few things in T1 solo (for the shinies), and damn it's hard! For example:

Every time I fight this guy, I get him to ~5% and he wipes me instantly with this ability where he puts his claws in the ground, green bubbles appear and explode after about 1-2 seconds. But in this final 5% "phase" they explode almost instantly and cover around 90% of the floor). The 3rd time I tried, I managed to survive once, just about, only for him to do the same damn ability straight away and kill me again! He doesn't do that the rest of the fight!

I know I am probably not geared enough for T1 yet, having only just hit 70, but I can, with difficulty, survive the rest of the encounter... just not this final 5%. Seems odd how they should put a gear check at the end of the fight like that, if that's what it's about.

    Belial is a <unrepeatable>

If you get to the continuous phase then you've basically lost unless you've some way to regenerate health very quickly. Change skills/tactics so you kill him before he can get into this state.

How long was the fight taking? Most boss or mini-boss type encounters have a soft enrage timer of sorts, i.e. If you take too long the fight gets harder, sometimes exponentially.

Example 1: If you take a while to kill The Butcher (over 1min but not sure exactly when it kicks in) the fire on the floor stays permanently on. This happened a while ago when I was pushing my gear level to do T1. The fight was long since my WoTB (120 second CD) refreshed. I think it may have reset to regular behavior after a while but it was brutal and I barely won.

Example 2: Much like above I was playing above the comfortable level of my gear at the time. The Rift boss (forget name) would periodically spawn 2 types of small, but many adds. Once the fight dragged on (over 1 min and before 2 min) the spawn rate became almost instant and I was overwhelmed very quickly.

So although you don’t feel the impact of the gear check until the end, it’s actually there from the start, i.e. Take too long and your gear isn’t up to the task.

My check: If it’s not mostly dead (sub-30% health at most) once my WotB (20 seconds) expires then I’m probably doing it wrong or my gear isn’t good enough yet. This is assuming I haven’t been ubah buffed by a Pylon first. With a Pylon it should be well and truly dead in under 15 seconds with or without WotB.

    Re: Diablo III: Loot 2.0

    Hey guys,
I've just reinstalled after patch 2.0, having bought the game on release where I lost interest and never actually finished it. I've started a new character to work through all the story and it's a lot better than it used to be . Whilst I don't have RoS yet I might get it soon... is there any point in getting it before I cap at 60?

Probably not, unless you finish Act 5 before 60, which is possible. Most people I’ve spoken to prefer Adventure Mode once they’ve completed the story once (sometimes per character type). Higher rewards and easier to find groups if that’s your thing since most are playing Adventure for bounties and rifts.

    Adventure mode is awesome!

Goobley, feel free to hit us up in game and apply to the Hexus clan (search clans by pressing "N" and typing in HXS). Although I am still a relative noob, the others are more experienced than me and can surely offer some good assistance!

    Re: Diablo III: Loot 2.0

At the moment I need to work on balancing the crit chance and crit hit damage a bit better on my DH.

With sharp shooter I get between 1 million and 1.7 million DPS. Othewise in-game DPS with sharp shooter off is around 800K to 850K.

My Wizzard still needs a lot of work TBH! Currently at around 600K DPS in-game but too fragile!

I found a reasonable offhand for your Wiz. It's a sheet dps increase for me, but obviously my Mirrorball is better due to the extra magic missiles.

Enjoying smashing everything with lightning at the moment.

6m toughness and only 360k DPS but with +30% lightning dmg, +15% on both my main dmg dealers and the mix of provoke w/ Charged up with Thundergods Vigor spamming all enemies with more lightning seems to slaughter all groups in T1
