Please Recommend me some FPS peaceful action-adventure games

Hiya, I'm searching for some games with immersive atmospheres such as Deus Ex 1 (1999) and Half Life and Portal, where most of the game involves walking around atmospheric zones, where there aren't necessarily screaming satanic xenomporphs hiding in every shadow, sludge and rust, and constant fast paced action.

For example, nice ambient sounds, pastel colors, lightmaps, big zones to walk through, and when things attack, it's more like slo-motion action where you have to time projectiles and physics, kindof a warm cozy game?

Please give me some suggestions!

The Bioshock games come to mind - what about games like Skyrim or Fallout?? Skyrim when modded is VERY atmospheric IMHO.

I suppose skyrim is the most peaceful maybe and possibly oblivion/morrowind. I have skyrim/oblivion on the 360 so I'll be missing out on the modding side of things. "No man sky" I'm hoping will be something special next year on the ps4+morpheous., pc gamers will have to wait a little longer though.

Deus ex human revolution comes to mind. Excellent graphics and ambient buildings and plenty to explore.

You could also try Assassin's Creed 1-3, excellent atmosphere and surroundings to admire.

Your description screams Fallout 3 / Fallout New Vegas to me.

A lot of the time you can wander around in those games just enjoying the atmosphere, although you always have the opportunity to turn it into a gunfight.

I was just going to mention this myself. I only played it very recently but really enjoyed it, and played it twice pretty much back to back with different play 'styles' - you'll see what I mean if you play it.

If you are prepared to go back to an old game. System Shock II is very atmospheric and hugely enjoyable. Plenty of action but i is usually stuff that you need to figure out and take your time over rather than rush in guns blazing. I don't like it if games are too frenetic, and I really enjoyed System Shock II.
I guess the age of the game would mean it may not satisfy your desire for visuals though.

+1 for Fallout 3, but please do realise that your wife/girlfriend/cat/dog/goldfish may leave you/die of starvation, while you will be totally obsessed with playing it for months on end, and you just wont care.

Second the recommendations for Deus Ex: HR and Dishonoured.

Sounds like point-and-clicks might fit the bill as well; highly recommend the Broken Sword (get the remakes of the first two and skip the 4th) Monkey Island, Dreamfall, Syberia and Blackwell games, as well as Yesterday and Gemini Rue which are two I've played more recently. Can't go wrong with any of the LucasArts classics either: Day of the Tentacle, Indiana Jones, Sam & Max, Grim Fandango and Full Throttle are all great - Monkey Island too, to give it the second mention it deserves.

I've fallen back into obsession with Skyrim again recently but with the right mods to the visuals and creatures, you could quite happily wander the wilderness in relative peace and just take in the stunning world.

Mirror's Edge might be worth a look too - going off what I've heard - but I've only played it for ~10 minutes or so so can't comment much further.

Second vote for Mirror's Edge, it's an awesome game, there's a lot of tricky timing and fast reflex sections but very little in the way of combat, with most fighting being about disarming enemies and then escaping. It's a great game.

Has Minecraft been mentioned already? That might be worth a look.

There are some great games that aren't first person, but they might fit your requirements anyway. Tomb Raider (2013) springs to mind and maybe Alan Wake.

Mirrors edge isn't the type of game I presume that OP is looking for; it's not a relaxing game like Fallout is in my opinion. As you've stated, it requires quick reactions etc

Mine's another vote for Skyrim, Elder Scrolls - I can spend many hours simply wandering here and there, looking at the scenery and vistas, occasionally having to fight a bandit or two.
