Requested to join the Hexus crew. Not sure what that means just yet, enjoying single player and haven't gone online yet.
Considering my reasonably medium performance hardware, I am stunned at the graphical quality. I left all settings at default so haven't played about just yet, but it still looks fantastic! Really enjoying the story so far as well, especially after playing Trevor! He's hilarious!
Playing really well here, Driving around & 3rd person is very smooth ! 1st person is'nt as smooth but thats coming from real FPS shooters.
Over all it looks very good on 1440p on a GTX980 & 3770k, I like the Vram usage meter. First time I've seen that used ?
Only played about 4hours, 1 hour missions & 3 hours looking about lol.
So far so good for performance, I've noticed alot of fps lag when in the menu when trying to use the sat nav. Other than that its normally around 60 with a few drops here and there but all is good.
Runs brilliantly on my 2500k (4.4Ghz) and 7970 (1050/1500). I'm at mostly v. high with a few things knocked down, 1080p and I'm getting a pretty solid 60fps (I have a frame limiter set at 60fps). It may drop down into the 50's at times, but for a 3rd person non-twitch shooter I'm perfectly satisfied with that.
Anyone tried playing online yet? Seems a bit odd, I was in a completely empty city (void of other players, not NPC's) and managed to try two "missions" because I was forced to to continue, and my team got thrashed each time. On top of that, the matches lasted around 1.5-2 minutes, yet loading and waiting took around 5-6 minutes each time. Very annoying and time consuming.
I want to try heists online, but if my experience last night was anything to go by, I doubt I'll be playing it much online.
Online does seem weirdly underpopulated. In my last session I had one or two players as opposed to on the ps4 where I normally see atleast 5 or 6 people minimum. I haven't tried online game modes yet on here just the free roam.
This has been the case more-or-less with PC games for quite some time. Normally big releases will bring out the crowds (at least for a while) but I do feel that too many already caved-in and played the game on console due to the overly-long wait....and that's on top of the fact that GTA isn't really viewed as a MP title.
Genius move by Rockstar though, it means they sold more overpriced copies on console then they would have and then got lots of people to double-dip for the PC version.

I understand why people would think console copies are over priced at first glance but when you can sell them not really tbh. Also the online for gta 4 was quite big and it was even bigger for gta 5. I'm thinking either many people are playing the story mode or the game isn't grouping people online as it should.
I'm having solid performance for the most part, however driving seems to tank my FPS hard despite everything else being fine. Even on lowest settings I'm seeing drops to 40 as I write this. No idea why, from what I've ready a GTX 760 with 4670k should run solid 60 on high but driving seems to really tank, seems other people on Rockstar forums complaining about it too.
On Very High everything except shadows I was getting solid 75 (have just adjusted my fps cap to 60) everywhere except driving though, but I think the popin is just chugging while driving.
Interestingly I seem to get a lot of stutter if I use the "Self Radio" too, assume this is due to the saves and the game itself being on different partitions, might see if I can do anything about that.

Interesting you have performance issues on the driving. That was the one time I had issues in WatchDogs.......I assumed it was down to the band-aid changes they made to port it from "XBoxOne with HSA" to "PC sans-HSA". Maybe it's just that movement in vehicles is faster and the faster streaming rate can start to show cracks.

Ye thats what I've been thinking, I tried messing with the render distance (distance scaling) but doesn't really make a difference, I dont think its the content on screen lagging me, just the act of loading it in which even distance scaling wont help. I thought knocking everything down to minimum so the textures being loaded in etc are much lower quality but no luck, still the same issue. Gonna keep missing with it though, even if I only get driving solid above 30/40 its better than having it drop near 20 which is when it really starts to feel bad.
