Cheers have got it on pre order so will download the beta tonight!
pre load started
Here's a recording of me and jim having a go at the wave mode.
Mines just finished downloading
OK so played a bit. Don't know where the crazy system RAM requirements came from as was only using about 6GB during gameplay.
In terms of CPU for loading and getting things ready it did make use of all cores but in actual gameplay only half of them were being used (weirdly in FIFA16 during a match all cores are being used and that's just footy!!)
So for gfx it was using 3.8 GB of VRAM, this was at 4k res and all settings on Ultra (dunno if this might show up the NVidia 970 a little due to the goings on) frame rate was around 30 fps with this.
With crossfire didn't really do anything to help at the moment, frame times started to vary a lot and although both GPUs were going full chat I was still only getting 30 fps (am not running vsync on or frc) most combined VRAM usage I seen on any game so far at 7.5 GB.
Graphically the game looks amazing and a step above BF4, cant wait for the full release.
I stopped pre ordering after the arkham knight saga but I'll pick it up after a couple of weeks
I'm playing on a PS4 and the graphics look a step up from BF4 on the PS4 too. Loving the game play and Star wars feel! It's taking me back to my childhood (I'm in my 30's )!
Wife was playing this on her PS4 last night and it looks super crispy. Really well presented at the sounds and even the transitions are kept like the movies. Looks really really good. Interested to see what the story mode would be like.
from what i have played it seems promising, i think the specs are slightly higher then they need to be and there are some cheats going on but they seem to get disconnected fairly quickly
Played this last night and it is a beautifully stunning game. The action is smooth and the gameplay works really well.
But a few points are stopping me buying it on release:
- No single player vs bots
- No Campaign
- No character classes for quick selection
- No overview map to find battle hot spots
- And no selectable spawn points.
- No Ammo / Health points. And no engineer class to repair them!! All static instalments magically repair every 60 seconds or so. Health is regenerated after 15 seconds of taking no damage...
They have basically taken BattleField 3, and re-skinned everything star wars.
I love the game but for me it's not what I wanted from Battlefront 3. I'll stick with BF2.
Good news people.. another 24 hours of the beta has been added:

Played about 3 hours and gave up.
Just another twitch-shooter, really, but with Stormtroopers. Not my kind of thing at all.
Good graphics and runs well on my system, but that's about it.
Really, really, really underwhelming.
Once you get over all the Star Wars music, sound fx and graphics.....it's an extremely shallow game that was full of cheats within seconds.
Really going off of DICE.
