I'd be interested in thoughts to. Still getting mileage out of the first one (got it on PC and PS Vita). Playing through the campaign again on the Vita and hoping to have a few online matches with friends on the PC.

Some mixed reviews on Steam, price still holding up too much for me to take a punt considering it's a year old now. On the "complete edition for £10-15 list" along with Civ 6 currently.

Yep been playing it recently actually.

Really enjoyable but frustratingly difficult. Plenty of mods to extend the game further.

Well worth playing. On CD Keys for £18.99 currently

It's a solid game. I find the challenge entertaining, but one aspect I find frustrating is the line-of-sight/cover system. You'll have to figure out how the game perceives situations because there are times where you think a character should be hidden because of the obstructed view, but the aliens have no trouble detecting them. Still, a minor annoyance for a solid game.

    Re: Xcom2

    I quite agree.

The game is certainly an improvement/refinement upon XCOM-EU/XCOM-EW but the LoS/cover aspect can indeed catch you out a tad too often. That said, I have had some terrific combats trying to extricate my brave troops from such 'surprises'.

Regardless, I will undoubtedly return to it again.

If you would like an extra challenge: when promoting troops perform a random DR on which skill they will acquire!

It seems the team on NASAs X-Ray communications project are fans, they've launched an XCOM satellite and are doing experiments on the ISS.

Coincidence right? XCOM is a logical abbreviation of X-Ray Communications. Well compare the mission patch:

If anyone is interested in the actual science of the project the homepage is at https://techport.nasa.gov/view/94821

Most definitely! X-Ray communications (XCOM) and the X over the world with the three stars becoming the the three other things including the I.S.S. and both badges having Confido in the title.

Lets just hope they do not bring unwanted attention from real malevolent aliens using the X-Ray communications or we will have to create our own resistance i.e. "Life imitating art" or be careful what you wish for..
