    Camera advice needed!

Ok on the look out for a new digital camera for my mum for Christmas! Budget around £100 to £150, and will be used for mainly for holidays and ebay. Need a camera that is fairly easy to use and does not come bundle with stupid software, which need to used to see the pics. Would be great if it had some auto zoom feature (not sure if that exist). So far I have no idea what brand (fujifilm is no no), and way too many cameras for me who knows little about it.

    Grateful for the help

The TZ10 has produced some great pics in another forum, I am recommending it as my best buy compact

Panasonic Lumix series is very good for compact cameras. Something like FS35 is around £100-£120 and good quality photos.

A touch to focus woudl be an idea, does that mean if i'm standing a bit away it will focus in?

Do you need to use the software to copy the photos from the camera?

Still got xp on the home pc :| Really don't want to install soem bloated camera software. Will it not work by just pluging it in, and then copying photos?

Just take out the memory card and drop it into a card reader? It'll then appear as an external drive.

    Re: Camera advice needed!

I think they all come with crappy software, but you can install just the drivers, then use Picasa or Explorer to download & view the files.

As for cameras, the Lumix FS16/18 are pretty good, and 'girl-friendly', otherwise there's the Canon Ixus 220 (should be under £150 by now...) or the FS35 has a few bells and whistles...

I find snapsort a good site to use when you need to make your mind up on a new camera.
