Indeed, I thought that when I read about it on Engadget earlier.

Seems a lot more straight forward than the Foveon (sp?) sensor too.

Wonder how much distortion the deflector gives? Might be the reason it hasn't been used before - lack of low distortion deflectors.

As much or as little as you want. Diffraction based on media density is well understood.

Ooo.. wonder if you could do a combined lens/sensor neatly with this...
