As with any construction process, there will be times where there doesn't appear to be much progress, even though everything is going to plan and schedule. Those underwater piers aren;t going to look very interesting from above the surface

    What's the latest update Rob.

Was over at the fringe last week and saw little in the way of progress.

    How the bush coming along?

Nothing's really changed, the bush is out of control and I might have to try another viewing angle I reckon :/

Re: New Forth Road bridge contruction - progress

First post has been updated with a pic from today, as you can see there isn't a lot going on! A couple of shots from a slightly different angle showing some work that is going on...

Re: New Forth Road bridge contruction - progress

Again, no real change. I saw something on TV a few days ago saying they were still filling the bases with cement, when that's done we'll soon start seeing some changes so this thread might get a bit more interesting!

Here's a couple of closer shots from the beach under the bridge (North side as per usual)

I'm passing through the Forth Road Bridge on daily basis for last 6 months and I haven't seen any major improvements. But Thx for pictures the idea is awesome.

I don't make it up there as much as I would like - I've only been up twice since they ripped out the toll booths for the road bridge - so thanks for making the effort to document the progress. I fear the next time I make it to Dunfermline, the bloody thing will be built!

Re: New Forth Road bridge contruction - progress

    OP updated with new pic.

Some progress at last, one of the white support legs has now gone in, last week it was on the news that things were starting to move.

Couple of better shots of the change.

Yup, it should go up quite quickly* from now on I'd imagine. Thankfully the bush has died down for winter so it's a slightly better view!

    *relatively of course!

Re: New Forth Road bridge contruction - progress

There was a piece on BBC Scotland news not that long ago, they have been fabricating some of the road sections on the south shore and are just about ready to move them into place.

    Here we go:

Re: New Forth Road bridge contruction - progress

I went for a wander today, by wander I mean across the bridge into South Queensferry & back (~4.4 miles all in) as I
left about 3 o'clock it was dark on my way back so I took a couple of pics.

The other path on the bridge has now been opened after being closed for a long time so the opportunity for better angles might be there when I next go in the daytime

Excuse any shakiness, considering the cold+wind+bridge movements, taking a non-blurred pic is impossible with a phone!
