    Photoshop Tips

Ok guys I am trying to play around with some images and I cannot remember how to edit a picture so that it is all black and white except one part is still in colour. Infact any good PS tips or websites with tips would help me out, thanks.

    Re: Photoshop Tips

A simple way of doing this is to add a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer and set the saturation to 0. Then mask out the area that you still want to be in colour. For more control of the decolourised area, use a Black and White adjustment layer with the same mask.

The real trick lies in learning how to make a good mask to separate the areas of your photo. I'd recommend Photoshop Unmasked if you want a thorough treatment. Russel Brown is a good source for free tutorials, though, and he has one on Advanced Masking (it's a bit out of date given the extra features in CS3, but still very useful).
