    Price List...

Hey Guys, wondering if you could maybe help me out...

Im starting to get people wanting to buy prints of my photos, and also people wanting me to do studio sessions for them/portraits, and i really need to get a set price list set up... any advice on what way i should go about it?

    i had thought offering....

    Unframed - 6x4, 7x5, 9x6, 10x8, 12x8, 16x12 (Other Sizes and Panoramic by request)

    Framed - 6x4, 7x5, 9x6, 10x8, 12x8, 16x12 (Other Sizes and Panoramic by request)

    Studio sessions,

    Canvas prints etc by request

but i haven't really thought about prices yet...

    ditch the 6x4 and 7x5

you need to factor in, time (studio time, post processing, administration), running costs etc

take a look at what your local photographers charge for a session and a print

i would think most will be around the 190 mark for an hours shoot and a free 10x8

oh so you want to be a weekend shooter with really low pricing because you're not a pro?

there's no reason why if you're a valued photographer, you shouldn't be charging the same..

yea im just a keen enthusiast... thanks for the advice on the studio stuff,

what about selling prints? obvioulsy it depends on cost of printing framing etc, but you have any ballpark figures?

    including studio time:

    Single Aperture:

    8 x 6" £160.00
    10 x 8" £185.00
    16 x 12" £235.00

cost for extra prints are really upto you, depending on how much time spent, etc how much you can get frames for..

    ...and with a 1/100s shutter time, that's £57.6m per hour you're earning!

well actually for the 8x6" your earning less than £80.00 per hour once you put the cost of electricity, heating, wear and tear for use of equipment, prep time etc

    Re: Price List...

no shame in that. I need to sort out a pricing structure myself now I'm in demand... not complaining but feeling I should maybe start actually putting a value to the images I produce. more so the limited ed.s

Please, Don't ask for that one 'as a desktop'...its really not worth wasting your time asking, unless you're able to pay £££?
