HEXUS Photo Challenge - Macro
Thanks for all the punches. It’s finally time for me to start a new photo competition for the ever increasing selection of people that now seem to use this sub-forum.
The rules are simple (reminder below too), you have two weeks to capture your best shot that fits the category, your shot must have been captured in the time from this post to the end of the challenge, no retro-posting please. the subject is: "Macro" Usual rules apply; its about your talent as a photographer but editing is permitted to highlight your subject, vastly editted images that severely distort things are not the aim. I usually suggest edits limited to sharpening and levels adjust (as per-usual from a dSLR RAW file for example) but in this instance use your editing wisely. Black and white and colour pictures are both allowed. You take as many pictures as you want from now until Saturday 29th September – that’s nearly two weeks. Then you pick just ONE to submit, multiple submissions will not be accepted. Re-size your image to NO LARGER THAN 800x600pixels and 200K in size and send to the below email address. Entries in by EMAIL 23:59 Saturday 29th September Zak33 [@] hexus.org Please state your HEXUS User name when submitting your image A thread will be started on Sunday 30th September and Voting will commence for 7 days, the time voting ends will be made known when the thread is created. Happy snapping..... Last edited by Zak33; 22-09-2007 at 11:50 AM.. Reason: Zaks e mail addy |

Re: HEXUS Photo Challenge - Macro
Should point out that Macro kind of poses a problem for those without Macro lenses....I know you can interperate, or work around the concept by getting as close as possible to something with a regular lens, but comparing it to some of the pics I've seen on here recently with macros, it's going to be hard to compete.....
Edit: in short, what Elmo said |

Re: HEXUS Photo Challenge - Macro
You could try the reversing lens trick if you have an SLR, but those with compacts are a bit stuck if it's got rubbish macro.
CPU Temps: Forget MBM, if it don't crash it ain't too hot.

Re: HEXUS Photo Challenge - Macro
It is on my calender, is that not correct?
Everyone can still get some fantastic macro pictures with normal compact cameras. Just give it a try
