Re: 20, 30 or 40D
it's not the camera that takes good pics, it's the photographer. If you are unsure, get the cheapest body + better lens and then see how you get on.
You can always upgrade and it's mainly the lenses that contribute to better pics, not the body - you can always get a better camera body and retain good lenses - not the other way around !! p.s. I got the 20D + great lenses. Still trying to get the best out of them !! |

Re: 20, 30 or 40D
I hate threads like that....
You didn't read the OP, did you? Although not implicity referenced, the implication is that my previous camera was a 10D, and even then, the fact that I do specifically mention the Tamron 17-50mm would mean that I'd come from an SLR. If I'd asked 'what kit should I buy to take the best pics?' then your answer would have been spot on. |

Re: 20, 30 or 40D
Nay, but thanks for pulling up the details. Got someone in near me selling me their pristine 20D with around 8000 shots on the clock for £250....Could have got it a little cheaper if I'd been willing to wait a few days, but this has the added advantage of being able to test it before I hand over my cash.

![]() When I read his comments the first time my immediate thought was 'there lies a photographer frustrated by his own innabilities' but put it down to being exceedingly catty and kept my mouth shut....until now.....sorry..... |
