Handy Software Thread?
Quick idea, how about a thread for listing indispensable photography related software, not obvious stuff like "Photoshop.. duh?" or "Well, you need to be able to take a decent photo..", but genuine time savers and other clever things?
My first one: AutoPano Pro - Panorama stitching software - Panoramic photo software - image stitching I've used the freeware version before and it was very good in combination with pt assembler: AutoPano But the "Pro" version simply blows it out of the water.. A few plus points:
Well worth the mula, and the free version is well worth playing around with too ![]() Anything from anyone else? |

Re: Handy Software Thread?
Virtual photographer is quite good, you can get some nice high contrast effects with it, not too hard to use. Essentially its photoshop plugin, but the nice thing is it works with Photoshop elements and Paint shop pro, so you dont need to have the full on CS3 suite to use it.

Re: Handy Software Thread?
an alternative to that panorama stitching program that's completely free in the Windows Live Photo Gallery.. works quite well.. works fast.. and produces a decent end product.

Image Resizer Powertoy - one touch resizing of images for quick emails, even proofs of photos. Quick and dirty, and not fantastic, but so easy that for the quicker jobs it is perfect.

Re: Handy Software Thread?
Ifranview for viewing, resizing, cropping, batch processing and very dirty captioning. It's my default image viewer and has been for years.
Anything that has to be better quality or use more professional tools then I fire up Photoshop. |
