Editing Assistance Please :-)
Hi guys
I took my boy and my Dimage Z10 into the garden this evening, and placed a garden chair on the lawn, balanced him on it and snapped away for 15 minutes. As with all bad photography, it's the subject that sometimes means more than the composition to the amateur photographer (ie me), so while I was laughing, I tried to get some sensible shots, keeping neighbours houses out of view, dustbins, etc. But I came out with a few that make me smile, and was wondering if you might try editing one of these two, in anyway you see fit, either simple cropping, with or without special effects, colour balance etc. Cos, frankly, I'm totally lost as to how to make them any better than the original, and that's not cos they're perfect....ohhh no. Most were total rubbish. Material isn't great, I'm no where near as good as a lot of you, and the camera is prolly just average really. Here they are.... I look forward to any efforts you can muster Thanks guys.No 1 No 2 |

Re: Editing Assistance Please :-)
I'm utterly useless past basic tools, but thought I'd have a bash anyway...
Attempt 1 Simple crop and a subtle blur to emphasise focus. Crop was designed to give the belief that the kid is looking around the table, almost as his eyes did to start.# Anyway, I gave the warning I'm useless above ![]() |

Re: Editing Assistance Please :-)
i took a quick look at them zak, how bout some vignetting on the first one? so there maybe more focus on the lil'un. either by darkening the outside, or losing focus.

Re: Editing Assistance Please :-)
Basics like colour balance, highlights and shadows, dodging and burning, frames etc. are always a good start. At the risk of encouraging cliches, have you tried any in B&W?
