David, pictures are great, but that site needs some work. I'm viewing at 1920x1200 and the text, menu and title graphic are HUGE!! It's not so bad when you get through to the album, but that's a terrible first impression. Plus, it's a photography site, might be nice to have some photography on the first page. What's with the origami swan? Is there relevance?
If I get some time I'll try to be more detailed later.... |

Hehehehe, yeah, you gotta read the text, however big.... Tangrams are chinese paper puzzles, and Tangram was an old nickname of mine - hence the logo of the tangramised swan
Dont forget Im a complete amateur at web design, and dont know how to resize text for different screen resolutions ![]() But I take the point and will check it out in more than just 800x600 and 1028xwotever... My own screen is a 1400x900 and it looks ok on it. Cheers all.......... |

I was thinking something to that effect while typing the question. You learn something every day...

mebbe centralise it, instead of to the left (it looks waffy at 1920x1200, cos it's all on 1 side)
(talking about the main page) |

OK, quick edit and pages now centralised, font and logo are smaller, photos added to index page.
I really appreciate this gang ![]() Cheers |

Re: My new photo site is up and running, feedback gratefully accepted
Okay, much better. I think that your title graphic and title text need a bit of work. First that tangram is 1000x1000px. That's really really big. It's not enough to just state graphic sizes within the html, you really need to actually resize the graphic.
Actually, here's a quick rehash. Not saying that you should do anything like this, but picture paints a thousand words and all that. ![]() |

What kind of setup do you use for the IR shots?
I've done a few HDR shots before but they never come out that great, I think I need more practice. |

Straight IR is with a Hoya R72, ISO400, max aperture (f22/32), and anything between 2 and 10 seconds, depending on sun.
Used Photomatic Pro 3 for HDR, with normal shot, just to add a touch of colour back in. |
