    Mother Love

One of my all time faves, a mother and baby Orang-Utan taken at Chester Zoo. Nikon D70.

Crits welcomed. (BTW, this is a link from my photo website and the J-Album SW has enforced the buttoning border and copyright notice, so please ignore those aspects.)

    Mother Love

    Cheers, David Harris

Nice picture, not 100% sure though but the chimp looks slightly out of focus or is is just me?

Yeah, it moved a bit just as I took it..... but please dont call it a chimp ! It would tear your head off if you did that to its face

It's the only pic I ever felt the urge to get printed at large size and my son framed it for me for my birthday.

I did do some extra unsharp masking just on the baby's eyes by zooming in, drawing a mask around just the eye, and then unsharp to about 25%, 2 pixels. It looks much better at 2ft x 3ft believe me

despite the slight softness I really love this, its a great moment you've captured and well deserves the large size format.

Please, Don't ask for that one 'as a desktop'...its really not worth wasting your time asking, unless you're able to pay £££?

*Stands by the Orangutan cage, shouting "You're a chimp" over and over, safe in the knowledge that organutans only speak Bahasa Indonesia, and a few remote Malay dialects*
