Wanted : Digital Camera - Budget £130
Bit of an open ended question here, but I'm looking for a digital camera as a favour for my mother (chrissie present for my dad) purely for taking holiday snaps, Christmas, birthdays, that sort of thing.
She was just going to purchase one of the shopping channel, but I said to leave it because the nice readers of HEXUS will know where to get the best bargains! Budget : £130 max I've seen a few in that price range but have no idea where the best place to look or what sort of camera I should expect for that sort of money. Any suggestions of websites or specific cameras would be most welcome

I prefer LiIon batteries to 2xAA, but there are LiI replacements for some 2xAA camera's. I got one for my nikon and it's much much better than standard rechargeables.
I've seen one of these in the flesh, it's really really nice. I need an upgrade from mine and I'm tempted.

I would offer to throw in £20-£30 of my own and go for a fuji f11 - they're down to around £150 new, or actually within budget from the refurb bit
good for indoor and lower light shots. f30 on the refurb page for £160ish

According to my uncle (he is a photographer so i trust him on this) Fuji make some of the best sensors in the business for general use cameras (image quality is better), so i'd go with them..

True, on compact Canon and Fuji got some of the highest noise performance AFAIK. On Canon it's down to the DIGIC II I think. Not sure about Fuji

I've got a canon powershot a620 and its superb for the money but its a bit more than your budget (£160 ish) so i'd probably go with something like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Canon-Powers...&s=electronics
