HEXUS Photo Challenge - new ideas please

Okay, we had a clear winner in the last photo challenge, lets get another one kicked off over the xmas period when we will all be at home and have a bit of spare time.

Shall we make it a festive theme? Would make sense to me.

What about night time long exposure photos (with or without light trails)?

The theme discriminates against non SLR users though.

I'm quite up for a festive theme - something that's reasonably open to interpretation though "'Tis The Season" or something like.

Yeah, seasonal sounds cool. how about a greeting card design based on one of your own photos ?

I think we should keep it more focused on the picture taking rather than the designing of a card.

If we can get a final idea sorted for Sunday we can kick things off ASAP.

I had an idea...everyone who wants to get involved puts their name in a list, then after a few days of gathering names everyone submits a picture - UNPROCESSED!! - the image is then passed to the next person down the line (bottom person's goes to the top) and given a further couple of days to do what ever they want with it...then submitted as normal

The original image does have to be a reasonably decent one though so its a sort of double act between the taker and editor... does that seem like a plan?

Please, Don't ask for that one 'as a desktop'...its really not worth wasting your time asking, unless you're able to pay £££?

People in here have problems finding enough time taking one picture to submit, and now you're suggesting that they have to take a picture, and then find the time to edit someone elses. Shaito, you optimist you!

Sounds over complicated, and unlikely to work. Straight forward 'take a picture and submit' is probably better...

    Seasonal works for me...

I like your idea shiato, however at this time of year there's always a severe lack of time, and not much of the spare time is allocated to sitting at the comp long enough to put the effort required into editing a photo. Maybe this could be an idea for a subsequent competition, but i dont think it would be feasible for this one

christmas, weather, shopping, temperature (cold and/or warm), spring to mind.

editing thing sound interesting - perhaps as a secondary contest, maybe with a defined editing goal of some sort?

I like your idea shiato as well but I can't see it working with the lack of time we all seem to have. Everyone seems keen on the festive topic as it could actually cover anything around this time of year.

If there are no more objections I will post a new competition tomorrow.

its only a couple of hours if not less and really, its not like you take time to edit your own pic before submitting..
