    Corsa B 1998 1litre 12v Problems

Recently i have been having a few problems with my car, a couple of weeks ago it start not turning on properly. At first i thought i had flooded the engine but as it got to the 3rd time in a week i knew it wasnt that. The problem is that when i go to turn the car on it trys to start the engine but it doesnt actually kick in to make the engine start but you can hear it trying to.

I put up with this for a couple of days then one day i was coming off a road and i put my break and cluth down to slow down and my car just died on me, it was as if my car had stalled, all the lights flashed up, battery, oil, eps, engine light, i lost my power steering and with this being my first car i crapped myself. I pressed on the accelerator to try and make the car move and at first nothing happened but eventually it kicked in and a surge of gas went thru and made my car shoot forward, it did this again when i put the clutch down at a later round around (the rev meter drops to 0 also).

This has been happening more and more, but tonight i was sitting in neutral with the hand break on, feet no where near the pedals and the car died on me again, as i described before.

Does anyone have any ideas on what this could be? I've had the car to the garage but they could not find anything wrong with it, as my luck it was working perfectly fine that day.

Please help my car is becoming an embarrasment and too unreliable to cope with.

    Thanks in advance, Dave.

could be the fuel injection relay, or many other things. its hard to tell until it totally craps out on you if its intermittent

these can be the hardest problems to fix, but its almost always fuel related.

    only happen cold/warm?
    o2 or maf/map sensor
    idle speed control valve
    exhaust gas recirculation
    timing

could really be anything but those are probably most common..
