    peugeot 307 heater not working.

I was using the heater in my car and it was working fine until today i started my car up and it wouldnt work. The rear windscreen heater is still working fine but nothing is coming out off the heater blowers in the front of the car. Does anyone have any ideas as I have looked at my haynes manual thinking it might be a fuse but i cannot find any mention of a heater fuse in it. Many thanks.

Googling suggests that this will be similar to my old Suzuki Swift - either the blower resistor pack or the wiring loom for it might have burned out. You need to take apart the glove box & (apparently) remove the blower to get to it.

Re: peugeot 307 heater not working.

after taking out all my fuses in the glove box and re-inserting them I started my car up, still no heating. I removed the front of my stereo today and upon putting it back on after starting the car up the heating came back on. I am totally miffed but chuffed. Should I still check wiring to prevent this happening again & see if theres any damage or just leave it?

it must have a loose wire vicki.. if the stereo removal and replacement sorted it.. so it might happen again

Is it a PEUGEOT FACTORY FIT stereo or is it an aftermarket install?

It is just a cheap after market stereo as my peugeot factory fit stereo ate my cd and wouldnt give it back.

Re: peugeot 307 heater not working.

In the haynes manual the fuse you are looking for will be listed as blower, heater blower, heater fan or something similar. Did you check each fuse when you went through all of them?
It does sound like a bad connection. I would strongly suggest finding and fixing the fault. The fan is a fairly large load so there is a real (although very small) risk of a fault starting a fire. Also, if the loom is damaged (say by a badly fitted stereo rubbing against it) then the damage may still be getting worse and the heater fan failing is just the start.
