    problems with my peugeot 306

ive got a peugeot 306 xsi 2.0 and for some reason the car just cut out completly when i was driving. ive had the idle control valve replaced but apparently this could be a fuel injection fault or an ignition fault. has anyone had a similar problem, the car doesn't start what so ever now. i think its fit for the scrap yard to be honest! im sick of it... french piece of s**t!

The idle valve will tend to lead to it spluttering and conking out when you pull to a stop.

Did it feel like an electrical type stop (sudden loss of everything) or a mechanical type stop (juddering, spluttering etc etc then stop)?

My 306 has cut out before but it was very cold and I drove it hard without letting it warm up. It just died when I puled up at some traffic lights

Peugeot 306 electrical problem headaches !!

    Hi Gavpug
I had a simular problem with mine, id be driving along then loose total power on everything, we took it to peugeot and the problem was with the fuel pump. which i had replaced and hasnt happened since, my 306 is a xsi though so i dont know if that makes a difference to yours. My NEW!!! electrical headache is i slammed the drivers door a bit to hard and from then my central locking wont work and front electric windows dont work ( rear are manual). If anyone can shed any light please feel free.

Ihave 306 xld, diesel, not turbo, 1.9 litre, 1994. I had parked for the day at work. coming in the evening to get home, the car was in total silent mode, so sound coming from the engine; all lights glowing pleasantly from the dash board. however Im push staryted it and it obliged. I replaced the starter, and it can now at least fire, but the engine does not run. As i crank the engine, the alarm comes on and will not let up till the stipulated minutes are over. I am completely helpless with the key in my hands, cos the alarm does not respond.
What could be going on here?, somebody help.
