    Exclamation Renault Clio 1995

    Hello all

    A newbie here
I have renault clio 1995 RT and i don't where to put what fluid as it the caps on the fluid reservoirs either don't say anything at all or even if they do, its in flippin french!!!
now, there's a reservoir sitting about a 20 inches left of the battery. its a big round sump and contains some kind of oily fluid (not very dense though). Now can anyone kindly tell me what that is, as its running very low now and i need to top it up before it does something nasty.
Im sorry but thats all the information i could give right now. If there's any question that you'd like me to find out, please shoot!

    cheers

whats it made of. plastic? clear? either gonna be your windscreen resovoir or coolant. trace the pipes from it - if they go to the radiator then fill with coolant, if to the screen then with screenwash

its not fully clear but u can partially see inside it..It's not the washer liquid as washer liquid is placed in a bay behind the batter inside a grill cover. so its defo not the coolant.
Any other ideas would be really appreciated.

    Cheers

I had one a few years ago, and remember the radiator coolant bottle being round. (You can tell I'm no mechanic!) Like you said, the washer fluid is under a flap by the windscreen, so definitely can't be that.

Have you checked the manual? Unfortunately I have leant my Haynes manual to someone so can't check. I guess you could post a picture of your engine bay, which may help too us try identify it.

    Where's Lowe?

    Here

Alas it's been a few years since I was under the bonnet of an RT so without a picture I'm not definately going to say what's what.

Go fire up a digicam and take a shot of the bay and I'll tell you what's what.

It does sound like the coolant expansion bottle as Doll says, but until I see a pic I'm not saying put coolant in it.
