    ps3 warranty / replacement

    hi guys ive been looking around and noticed that faulty ps3's can be picked up for under 50 quid so i was wondering, how do sony stand with their replacement sceme? like if its over a year old etc? as long as it still has the warranty sticker intact? are they as good as microsoft?
    Also, if i cant be cheeky and get sony to do it, what would my other options be?

    im told the common ps3 faults are a yellow light which is fixable?
    but the big one seems to be the disc drive stopping working, is this easily fixable and can it be done to make paying less for a faulty console a good buy?

    Sony are no where near as forgiving as Microsoft, but I would ring Sony first and say that you are asking what their warranty replacement policy is. Considering they have just upped the manufacturer's guarantee to 3 yrs on TVs they might be more lenient.

    In my experience, you pretty much always have to pay Sony for out of warranty repairs.
    I don't know how it is now, but only last year it didn't work out much more to rebuy the console.

    Why not sign up for continuous play, wait a month and then claim?

    people say you dont even need to wait anytime! just claim the next day!

    Yeah that's what i did, i signed up for Continuous play when my PS3 went wrong and claimed with it straight away for free....
