    Odd power button issue

I'm posting this in the Corsair Power supplies area but could me something else wrong.

I have a Corsair 650D case, Corsair AX850 PSU - hence picking Corsair area. Asus motherboard etc

Quite often the power button on the case will no power up my computer. Power lights are on the motherboard so I know there is power inside. I have to disconnect the power cable (or flip the power switch on the back of the PSU) to get the computer to fire up.

This has only recently started to happen - since installing a new NAS drive but I can't find any topics that relate a NAS box/Network storage affecting a computer in this way.

Is there a change the Power supply is stuck and won't fire up correctly?

It is extremely unlikely your NAS would be causing this.
I would suggest first you need to eliminate the following:
    • Problem with button on case
    • Problem with motherboard
    • Problem with PSU

I've been running this over on the Corsair forums and we've eliminated the NAS or power switch on the case. Its either something shorting out the PSU or the PSU is faulty itself.

    Hey Brewster
I've the same problem with my AX650. The paper clip test the Corsair advises proves that it is a PSU issue for me.
    How did you get on?

I've the same problem with an AX650 and the Corsair recommended test with a paper clip would suggest that it's a problme with the PSU

How did you get on brrewster ... did Corsair accept RMA?
