    TX650v2 PSU Problem?

    Hello everyone,

This is my third RMA from corsair, and a different product now, so I really hope that this isn't a problem.

When I start my PC with my brand new TX650 PSU, the PSU fan goes full speed for around 5 seconds and I get a surge protection warning in the Bios. For now i've disabled the asus surge protection in the settings.

    Here's a video:

Can anyone advise me whether or not this is normal?

The fan ramping up then slowing down then eventually stops, that is a normal operation. TX650V2s have a fan less mode.

Is the system stable during normal use? Are you experiencing any random shut downs?

As far as I can tell, the PSU is completely stable.

Having said that, I'm awaiting my GPU delivery, ordered a new one just before the PSU arrived.

Do you always get that warning during cold boot? Once you get your card and you still get the warning, it's probably worth checking voltages in each rails of your PSU in BIOS. But please note, BIOS is not the most accurate way to measure voltage readings, but at least it'll provide you an idea if the values are way off spec. Each rail should be within +/-5% (ATX spec)
Multimeter is still the way to go if you really want to get accurate reading.
