Question Cyberpower PC...anyone here used them before?

I've watched Cyberpower off and on since I was in college 4 years ago, and they always looked good. So now (after way too long), its time to get a new rig, and I'm looking at going through them since I can get more bang for my buck from them than through my previous choice (Dell, which I've never had ap roblem with, but I couldn't get the system I wanted on my budget through them this time). Building my new PC from scratch isn't an option this time (I lack the free time, to be honest), so I wanted soemthing pre-built for me that I can upgrade without major manufacterors' limitations, so thats why I chose Cyberpower (aside from all the praise Ive heard over the years).

I just wanted to ask whether anyone here has bought from them, and if so, what you think.

This is primarily an UK based site so you are more likely to get responses to this particular request at Anandtech, HardOCP etc.

I've seen there systems at numerous trade shows - my normal question is what differentiates you from everyone else in this market, and unfortunately you get the same response

    "We paint the chassis"
    "We build the fastest PC's"

    etc...

Re: Cyberpower PC...anyone here used them before?

If you mean Cyberpower pc`s by Cyberpowersystems which seems to be Uk based then they have won numberous magazine awards over the years but so far i have not had any personal experience of them..but did notice they had a freephone number to order systems with..

Additon-Never mind just realised your not in Uk anyway...mind you gives me another pc system builder to look at in my very slow "choose a new pc" phase I am going through...

First off, I apoligize for taking so long to reply; its been hectic lately (like a Doom level on Ultra-Violence, lol).

I think we were looking at two different companies; the one I'm referring to is (I believe) based out of California, USA. Their website is CyberPower, Inc

I think I'm going to go with them after all, but I'm installing several components myself (my optical drives, OS, upgraded video card, and I bought the keyboard/monitor/mouse seperately to keep costs down). Thanks again for evereyone's input, though; I appriciate it.

Well youre doing much of the work as it is like that, if youve got the time to install stuff like drives and the OS then surely you may as well build it from scratch, will save you more money. It only takes an evening to build one if you have a little experience.

Actually, when I priced out the components individually, it ended up being *more* expensive! That, and installing the mobo and processor is something I've never done and am a bit leary of doing; I'd rather have it done right. Installing a couple of DVD drives and maybe the video card would be rather simple, and I've already got a custom-made XP Pro disk (with some programs and about 90% of all the updates slipstreamed in, as well as most of my preferences already set - thanks nLite!) and a new copy of Vista Ultimate (which I've reinstalled XP several times now; my custom disk I setup is completely automated now ), so I'm really just doing the easy stuff.

Re: Cyberpower PC...anyone here used them before?

I have been dealing with Cyberpowersystem.co.uk / CyberPower PC UK and trying to get my computer fixed for over a month with no luck.
I am having the most horrible experience with this company.
"Customer Support" won't commit and the warranty does not include a maximun time.
The warranty system is a scam!
I would say stay away from them if you are deciding to buy a new computer.

Haha, I was going to post the same thing; I made this over two years ago when I was shopping for my then-new rig. I ended up just building my own (the one listed under my specs, in fact) when it was all said and done rather than buying a custom-built one.

Goodness, I had long forgotten all about this thread!
