    Gaming Laptop

    Hi all,

Looking for a recommendation for a gaming laptop.

My brother has done a lot for me over the last few years so I want to repay the favor and get him something more than the usual socks he would get for his birthday..

He plays games such as Rome Totalwar and Football manager at the moment but I know he has expressed an Interest in wanting to play more games, he has a laptop at the moment, but its old and wasn't really a "gaming" laptop to begin with.

I know I could get him a decent PC for that money, but he would prefer the portability of a laptop over a PC.

The budget is £1000 but I would be willing to go a little higher.

    Cheers,

Close enough for your budget? https://www.johnlewis.com/dell-inspi...black/p3149854

good spec with a 4k panel, 512gb SSD, 16gb ram and so on paired with a 1050ti as well as on chip kaby lake video (assume the same as mine a HD630) when he isn't gaming.

It is £300 more on Dell's site with half the warranty. It would be on my list but I ended up with the XPS-9560 instead as I don't game on a laptop much.

Not sure how the prices and specs will play out but the new Acer Aspire 7 series looks promising, according to The Verge:

Lastly, there’s the top-of-the-line Aspire 7 series, starting at $799. It’s the best of the lineup, with an aluminum case, Intel’s Kaby Lake processors, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 GPU, up to 32 GB of RAM. Storage wise, options include a HDD up to 2 TB oran SSD up to 512 GB. And like the Aspire 5, there’s a USB-C port.
