    Question Mesh Again!!

Like a few other people I was about to order a prebuild from mesh(the pcpro deal of the week/year - if you look at their site :-))

But I see a few people have had bad encounters with them. mainly on customer support if something goes wrong :-(

Scan seem a little pricey for what I want (3.2+ processor + Radeon X800 XP et all).

    Any better experiances/suggestions?

    Thanks
    P

I've got systems from Evesham Micros and never had any problems - you could give them a go www.evesham.com

Evesham/Mesh are as good/bad as each other imho (& I've dealt with both).
Hardware is generally pretty reasonable but if you need support then it's down to your luck. Better coming & asking here

I think it is important to remember these companies are BIG and sell a lot of units, this is important to remember since at the end of the day you can not get it right every time - people have some on here and bashed companies and when the companies have tried to track them it turns out they are bogus.

Please be more open minded - I have heard good things about both Evesham and Mesh - infact a good friend of mine just picked up a Mesh system and had no issues with it whatso ever

Think about any car maker - the same happens in the car forum - people bash Ford for example but they sell millions of cars a year

Parents have a mesh as I couldn't build the same system for the price. Think they have had it 2-3 years. It just sits there and works. I had a look inside when it turned up, seems well put together. Cables tidied, round IDE / floppy cables used and they provided all the manuals. Its a pretty standard system with an ASUS board but works really well.

Fair point David...every large company is bound to make some mistakes and some people are bound to complain, but with Mesh computers it seems to be a far to large proportion of people. I know only maybe a handful of people who have had problems with say Dell or Evesham, but there are loads with Mesh computers, so I think in this case that doesnt really cover it.

Mesh do what - 80 million quid a year? Well... people complain more than they praise.

no I realise that..yeah no one gets on their high horse about good customer service and makes a fuss..."Dell computers were really good...everyone read this long post about how great they are!!!!"
but honestly you have to admit, mesh have more than their fair share of complaints. I will be the first to admit that no companies are perfect (PM me if you do find one, I'll use it all the time...lol), but Mesh definitely get loads of complaints don't you think? Compared to say Dell...who must do loads more business than mesh computers every year.

I would recon that the sort of people that mainly buy from Dell would rarely be seen frequenting this forum or its like, whereas a company like mesh are a bit more popular(well relatively speaking anyways :-)) with users of this forum than mesh.

But in any case, I still need/want a new box so any additional suggestions? HL2 aint gonna run on my existing setup, which is really on its last legs.

BTW: The GFX card in using just now was one I bought from a HEXUS member a while back - one of those Siluro OTES Geforce cards, that sounds like a jet engine when the PC is running :-), god I cant wait for a quieter card!!

I would say mesh systems are good value for money and put together nicely....

After sales care.... in my exp they were poor, wiggled their way out of doing what they should.

I want a company who not only produce good value but good service... mesh didnt do the second.
