Hey guys
Just finished rebuilding my website, see what you think here:
http://niknak.org/
Since front-end web stuff isn't really my thing these days I copped out and bought a template from Theme Forest. Still ended up doing a crap ton of changes and tweaks though but it's made it my own and still saved me a lot of time and stress. Left me free to focus on the more interesting tasks
Speaking of which, there's a modular Windows service periodically pulling in data from Twitter, Twitpic, YouTube and my file system based image gallery. That data is stored in a few collections in a Mongo DB and then served up locally and output-cached. It's all .NET4 C# and ASP.NET under the hood. A fairly simple project but quite fun too.
I still have some work to do for rendering on phones and tablets and viewports narrower than ~1024px and I had to give up trying to get the video archive page working properly on IE7.
Cheers!
