It seems like you 2 are not the only ones. I got exactly the same problem. It seems like the recent batch of HX520s has the same faults.

sadly i think i've contracted another faulty one. it worked for a while but now its just..

arghh. same thing this time. except psu fan doesnt spin as fast. graphics card fan spinning top speed, seems like mobo isnt getting the ok signal to post from the psu again , i tried resetting the bios/clearing cmos. 2 dead hx520's here. im gonna go back and try to make it work.

    fingers crossed.

@Yellowbeard, isn't there any other region I could rma the psu to except for california? it would cost me £28 just to send it there, which is almost half the psu price!

Currently, we do not have an RMA option outside the continental US (California).

Have you made any progress with this issue? With 2 back to back failing PSUs I'd suspect some other problem.

Thought I should update this thread with my own issue. Tried to boot the computer today and had same symptoms - all fans run, lights on m/board & x-fi, but no beep or video display. I have had the PSU (HX620) in the computer since buying it when they first came out (early this year i think). Have spent the last 2 hours messing about and searching on here (using my PS3!!!!). Thankfully I found this thread, so i'll now look for the receipt and send the PSU back.

edit: Have just tied an antec psu I had lying in another case, but i still get the same problem. Back to the start... Have also swapped graphics cards and tried a boot with no ram fitted. without the ram fitted i get continuous beeps, but still no video....

edit 2: just tried removing one ram chip and booting and it worked. I think i would have found it earlier after removing both chips, but as there was no display I expected it to be something else. At least it is okay now, just gotta send this chip back, but will I have to send them both as a pair??

also what i found out is, with the working psu, when you switch it on using the paperclip, ie connect green to black the working one's fan spins slowly, but my broken one spins at full speed. just so you guys should know that could help you in determining whats at fault.

What specific RAM do you have?

2x 1gb Cellshock PC2-8000. Phoned Memory Configurator who supplied them and i can RMA them. Only problem is i'm going to be without a pc for however long it takes to sort - around 10 days i think. So I might order another 2gb of the same memory (which is now £100 cheaper than when I bought it in November), and then make it 4gb when the replacements arrive. Unless of course they offer a full refund, but I think that can only be done if they develop a fault within the first 14 or 28 days.

DITTO for me...everything spins up, nothing happens. HX520 on an Abit IP35E. The difference is, I had an older seasonic PSU on the same board with the same everything else and prior to installing the HX520, it worked fine. I put the 520 on, no go, then went back to the Seasonic, now it doesn't work either! I didn't do anything else to the system, just swapped the PSUs. Now I don't know what works and what doesn't. I have some new RAM coming on Wednesday, I'll see what happens then, but at this point, I'm planning to RMA the motherboard and PSU and get completely different components.

I too pulled all components, including one stick of my Ballistix RAM, and pulled the motherboard out of the case and box tested it. No changes, no matter what I do.

Re: Screen not Switching on, No Boot sounds either.

might have messed your components up. my first hx520w was faulty and I tried it on my high end mobo and it didn't work. Then I took it to my sisters pc and the same thing happened only this time after removing it and putting my sis's one back it stopped working also. I can only assume it busted the mobo because it was a old athlon one. not high quality like my other one.
